Bio

Tanya’s story starts in 1985, when she was born. She grew up in a Philadelphia suburb and wrote her first book in first grade. It was called “My Friend Buffy” and it was about a rabbit. It was awesome. Tanya liked seeing her name in print, so she kept writing. She found this to be a socially acceptable form of mischief-making, plus it was fun.

Tanya caught the acting bug in middle school, where she joined the school play. She continued her theater involvement throughout high school, acting, directing, designing, and being an all-around nerd. When it came time for college, Tanya decided to try her luck at Emerson College, where she studied Writing, Literature, and Publishing and Theater Education, two majors with very long names.

At Emerson College, Tanya met her future husband, Ian Grant while making mischief. A few years later Tanya moved to Los Angeles, where she and Ian started a photography business and got married. Tanya currently lives in Los Angeles with Ian and their dog, cat, and rabbit. She is currently working on various and sundry middle grade and young adult novels.
